Many owners review the business only when something breaks. By then, the warning signs have been around for weeks.

Set aside 15 minutes once a week. Look at these five things:

  1. Leads: How many new inquiries came in, and how quickly did you respond?

  2. Sales: How many inquiries became paying customers?

  3. Delivery: What work is late, being redone, or waiting on you?

  4. Cash: What bills and payments are coming in over the next two weeks?

  5. Capacity: What is taking time without producing a useful result?

Write down one number or observation for each. Then choose one issue to address this week. Keep the action small enough to finish: call back the three oldest leads, clarify one handoff, or follow up on one overdue invoice.

The goal is not a perfect dashboard. It is to notice a problem early and make one useful adjustment before it grows.

Try it this Friday. What did your review uncover?
